Mikawa (present around Aichi ), Sensyu（present around Osaka) and Ensyu are a three major cotton producing areas.

In the Meiji period, the present Toyota Motor Company and Suzuki Motor Company which is headquartered in Hamamatsu are founded as weaver manufacturers.
They introduced a power loom.

It has reached the heyday since the Showa 30 's.
